Sharing and collaboration

Shared materials: dynamic scope and already-used content

Authorize the owner's current material scope, not a snapshot. Library changes and canvas content have different effects.

Who can use shared materials

  1. Enable collaborator access to personal materials on a collaboration link, at creation or in history. View-only links do not grant it.
  2. Choose All materials, named folders, or eligible unused scope; historical changes require Update.
  3. Eligible editors choose owner-shared images/prompts through the picker or prompt tool and authorized directories.
  4. If missing, check this link's resource grant and people rule. Another link's grant does not apply here.
Participant browses authorized owner images

Only granted scope/directories appear; selection is not library management. This tutorial selection has not been confirmed into Canvas.

Select text from shared prompts

Read full text and Apply; no automatic generation or owner-item management. Text-bearing images can also provide prompts, so counts differ.

Scope is not the owner's whole account

ScopeGrantLater changes
All materialsShareable personal images and prompts, including eligible unfoldered content; not every session image.New eligible materials can become visible.
Named foldersCurrent eligible images/prompts in selected folders, read-only browsing.Moved-in items enter scope; moved-out leave it; renamed folders show new names on reread.
UnusedCurrently unused materials under library rules, not a fixed publication list or all Uncategorized.References, classification, or deletion can recalculate eligibility.
Explicitly authorize a collaboration folder

The scope is current content, not a snapshot. Other folders are not automatically granted. Historical changes need Update.

Effects of owner changes

Checks occur on actual rereading, selection, or submission; an already open picker need not immediately remove every item. Reopen or refresh. A visible old thumbnail is not current permission.

Applied shared text is not continually synchronized to personal materials. Used image references are not automatically replaced by changing directory, title, or a material item.

Three image sources and their storage

SourceUseRemember
Owner-authorized imageReuses the owner's saved file in Canvas.Already-used canvas references and future library browsing are separate scopes.
Participant upload/personal imageSaved into owner workspace for shared use.Uses owner storage, not merely a temporary private display.
Shared generation/edit resultSaved in the same owner canvas with real new-file usage.Personal payment changes neither ownership nor automatically creates personal materials.
  • Participants select authorized materials but cannot add, rename, move, or delete owner-library items from the picker.
  • Resources do not open owner favorites, inspirations, system/external sources, drive connections, ungranted folders, or account/order information.
  • Participants cannot favorite or collect shared-canvas inspiration. Download authorized deliverables while access remains and agree on use and distribution.
