External prompt sources: connect, apply, and keep

An external catalog is an online reference. Applying fills a draft; copying to personal materials creates an independent saved item.

Why connect rather than import an entire catalog

External authors update their prompts. Online connections let you inspect what you need without copying everything or turning third-party content into site-published system prompts. Explicitly copy items you want to keep.

System prompts are site-published; external prompts are read from enabled sources; personal materials are explicitly saved and editable. Browsing is not backup.

Enable or add sources in Settings

  1. Open Settings → External connections → Prompt sources. Enable or disable site-provided sources for your account only.
  2. To connect a public catalog, choose Add prompt source and enter a recognizable name and public HTTPS JSON registry URL.
  3. The URL must directly serve a readable prompt catalog. A homepage, repository page, sign-in link, local-network address, or generation API is not a registry. Never include secrets or private authorization URLs.
  4. After successful addition and enabling, open its prompt assets and check reading. Resolve address, public access, and format errors; completing a form alone is not success.
Manage external prompt sources

Source switches differ from Add. This form is not submitted; a public JSON registry is not a webpage or image API.

Find suitable entries in Asset Library

  1. Open External prompts and choose an enabled source. Site-disabled default sources cannot be reopened by a personal switch.
  2. Search title or text; filter by actual supplied model, method, tags, or date and choose sorting. Scroll for more; the first screen is not the entire catalog.
  3. Read full details and source links. External model names, labels, and covers do not grant account access or guarantee equivalent results with another model.
Browse an external catalog by source

Search/filter the selected source. Source-provided model names and tags do not establish compatibility with every site model. Counts and metadata belong to the source at capture, not site allowances.

Apply, customize, and check actual references

  1. Open the prompt tool in Chat, generation settings, or an editable card and select an external source and entry.
  2. Customize its subject, scene, example text, and parameters after applying. Submitted or read-only history cannot be rewritten this way; start an editable continuation.
  3. Provide actual references you have permission to use when the prompt requires them. A remote example cover does not automatically become input.
  4. Check current model, reference count, dimensions, and estimate, then explicitly submit. Later generation or optimization follows its own rules.

Explicitly copy to keep text long term

  1. Multi-select loaded entries in External prompts. Desktop box selection and touch drag selection do not include unloaded items.
  2. Choose Copy to personal materials, select a folder, and submit. Inspect actual titles, prompt text, and tags afterward.
  3. Organize/edit in materials and reuse through My materials. Later external changes do not overwrite personal text.
  • The same source entry copied again into the same folder neither duplicates nor overwrites your text. Compare and edit manually for a new version; another folder can contain another item.
  • A mid-batch failure does not undo successful entries. Inspect materials and retry missing items in the same folder.
  • Copied text and metadata remain personal; its cover remains an external link, not a saved image file. Text can survive a broken cover.
  • Saving a prompt grants no image or artwork rights. Check licensing before providing image files through normal upload.

Disabled sources are not deleted personal copies

SituationEffect
Disable a sourceStops online browsing in your catalog/tool; explicitly saved text remains. Re-enable to browse again.
Remove a custom sourceRemoves your connection, not the external catalog or copied text. Default sources only have personal enable/disable.
Site disables a default sourcePersonal enabling cannot restore it; saved text is not automatically deleted.
Broken cover but readable textThe remote image may be expired, blocked, or unavailable; check text rather than assume deletion.
Catalog reading failsCheck source and network. Failure is not an empty catalog or successful import; use saved materials independently.
Missing model/date metadataFilters reflect supplied information, not proof of site validation or universal model compatibility.
